Apart from building good relationship with the public, the traffic policemen must be duty conscious, advised district police chief Sandeep Patil.
Speaking after inaugurating the South Zone-level traffic control training camp at Maithri Bhavan in Madikeri on Monday, he said in the backdrop of population explosion and spurt in vehicular traffic, the responsibility of checking crime and also ensuring traffic control lies on the shoulder of the police. The relationship between the police and the public must be cordial and the police personnel must take steps in this direction, he suggested.
They must create awareness about Karnataka Police Rules and conduct investigation in case of accidents. They must also try to provide first aid at the right time, he said.
Kushalnagar division DySP M Narayan said the police personnel must improve their knowledge and experience in the camp. In the six-day camp, police personnel from Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajnagar, Hassan and Kodagu districts participated.
