T K Parashara and Shobha Ananthaiah have been unanimously elected as the President and Vice-President of Sringeri Town Panchayat here on Monday.

In the last election to urban local body, BJP had won nine seats out of eleven. The post of president and vice-president was reserved for general category.

The election to the post of President and Vice-President was held under the presidentship of Tahsildar. Speaking after felicitating the newly elected President and Vice-President, former MLA D N Jeevaraj said “President and Vice-President should not look back to take any decision for the welfare of the town. All the problems should be solved through dialogue.”  BJP Taluk President Ranganath, ZP Member H R Krishnamurthy were present.
