Mickey Arthur, the South African cricket coach, will remain in the national selection panel after the governing body said its general council had no authority to remove him as a selector. A Cricket South Africa statement released on Saturday named a three-man selection panel which did not include Arthur.

Fabio Capello, the English football team manager, has assured that David Beckham will win his 100th cap if he gets fit playing for Los Angeles Galaxy. The former England skipper was left out of Capello’s squad for the friendly international against Switzerland last week on the grounds that he was not fit.
