Several Dalit organisations on Monday demanded that the government should order a reinvestigation in the Kambalapalli case and also announce suitable relief for all the families of the victims.

Seven dalits were burnt alive in Kambalapalli village near Chintamani in Kolar district by a mob on March 11, 2000. A session’s court had acquitted all the 46 accused in the case. The government has since filed an appeal against the session’s court verdict before the High Court.
