Nasscom, on Tuesday, announced the winners of Nasscom Global Leadership Awards 2008. The awards seek to recognise some of most outstanding business leaders and visionaries from across the world.
The winners will be felicitated by Union Minister of Aviation Praful Patel and Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh at the awards ceremony on February 14 in Mumbai on the sidelines of Nasscom 2008 India Leadership Forum.
The Business Transformation Award conferred for encouraging use of technology within organisation to achieve business goals and operational excellence, and spearheading initiatives to automate the processes to improve product/service quality and enhance customer responsiveness, has been awared to British Airways CEO Willie Walsh.
The Business Leader Award, for setting the company on path of innovation, customer responsiveness and corporate governance to achieve rapid growth and profitability, working in a reputed entity recognised for its focus on quality, image and branding, client orientation, and best practices, is being conferred on Cisco Chairman John Chambers.
The Global Indian Award, for an individual who has brought fame and glory to the country, gained recognition for his work within academic or business communities and proved himself as a visionary and thought leader, has been bestowed on Tata Group Chairman Ratan N Tata.
