It is impossible to predict the time and progress of revolution. It is governed by its own more or less mysterious laws.

Discussion on UIDSSMT scheme held in Tumkur
DH News Service, Tumkur:
Former MP G S Basavaraju and Development Revolutionary Forum president Kundrnahalli Ramesh met city development department secretary Subashchandra and held discussions with him regarding the development with grants from the Centre under the UIDSSMT scheme.

Even earlier the aid was sought for the city under the ADB and UIDSSMT schemes. However, the city has remained the same with no visible development works undertaken so far.

Hence in the light of the UIDSSMT scheme under the special rules more grants should be given, they discussed.
In the beginning itself it is possible to get Rs 250 crore for the development of the city. But the CMC should make all preparations to get so much of money at one time. Just to prepare the scheme the CMC has a resource crunch.

In the light of this it is important to see that steps are taken to get the funds under the UIDSSMT scheme in three stages, proposed Basavaraju.

To get aid under this scheme one can get cooperation from Water Board, Slum Clearance Board, Urban Development Authority and the like. Hence one should not sit back thinking that it is only the responsibility of the CMC. All the departments hould give information by preparing plans and sending it to the government, he said.

Responding to this City Development department secretary Subashchandra got in touch with the deputy commissioner S R Umashanker and got to know the immediate requirements for the city. He also directed him to send a proposal fast to get the grants under the scheme.
