The revised draft voters’ list will be published in all polling booths, gram panchayats, urban local bodies, taluk offices and office of the assistant commissioner on February 14 for the verification by the voters, stated Dakshaina Kannada Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao in a release.
The draft electoral roll will also be posted on www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in, and public can refer to the website too.
For any additions, corrections or deletions, one can contact the authorities concerned with the following forms:
n Form 6 may be submitted with proof of permanent residence and age, for including their name in the list, in case it is still missing.
*Form 7 may be submitted with necessary documents for objections.
*Form 8 may be submitted for inserting corrections in the list.
*Form 8A for transferring their names from one part of the constituency to another part.
The forms can be submitted for any of the above stated purpose within February 22 to the official posted at respective polling booths or taluk office (Mangalore City Corporation for those coming under 142-Mangalore Constituency).
However, the DC said, people will be subjected to imprisonment upto one year and fine for enrolling their names in two places simultaneously as per People’s Representation Act 1950.
