Heavy rain which lashed Chikmagalur claimed one life on Tuesday.

A certain Bhairaih (65) was killed when a wall collapsed at Doddamagaravalli colony in Chikmagalur taluk.

The deceased was sitting after his lunch when the wall of his house collapsed. A buffalo was electrocuted when it came in contact with a fallen electricity wire.

The heavy rain which started from Monday night continued till Tuesday evening and disrupted the normal life. The overflow of drainage caused inconvenience to the movement people. Artificial floods in low laying areas entered some of the houses. Tippu Nagara Mountain View School premises had converted into a ‘dirt ground’ causing inconvenience to the students.
