'Only children and saints can think outside box'

“Children and saints are the only people capable of thinking outside the box because of their imagination powers. Teachers and parents should encourage this among them,” said thinker litterateur Kottaganhalli Ramaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating the annual day celebrations ‘Euphoria-08’ of R L Jalappa  Central school in the city. He also cautioned that should one try to curb this unique aspec in any child, it would hamper the natural growth of him/her.

Imaginative power

He added that a child’s imagination is the gift, whose depth is beyond the understanding of adults. For this is to be nurtured the child must have safe and secure environment to grow.

“Teachers should use innovative ideas to teach their students and allow them develop a wide perspective,” he added. Medical President of R L Jalappa hospital, Dr K Borappa also spoke on the occasion and added that older children need a different approach for identifying their talent.

Among the dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Director of Sri Devraj Urs medical college Dr A R Patil, Principal Dr M B Sanikoppa, Assistant executive engineer Hanumantha Rao and others.
