The administration of the Agency said check-posts have been set up across the tribal area to search for the envoy, who is believed to have been abducted.

The search is focusing on Jamrud sub-district, an area that is known for kidnappings in the past. Security forces also conducted searches in parts of Northwest Fronter Province (NWFP), which borders the Khyber agency.
Officials said Azeezuddin was last seen at Ali Masjid, a town in the agency located about 35 km from NWFP capital Peshawar at around 11 am on on Tuesday.

Officials also said Azeezuddin had not sought security from the political administration of Khyber Agency for his journey from his home in Peshawar to Kabul via the Torkham border post.
