Unseeded Nikhil Reddy scored a straight sets win over second-seeded Akshay Kishore in the boys’ under-18 section in the Tennis Advantage all-India ranking tennis tournament here.

The 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win at the St John’s Sports Complex on Tuesday powered Reddy into the quarterfinals. After taking the tough opening set in a tie-break, Reddy had it easy in the second, coming through with ease.

Unlike Kishore, other seed players went through to the last-eight stage.

In the corresponding age group in the girls section, fancied Nupur RC huffed an puffed her way past a fighting Tanya Singh 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
