Congress spokesperson V S Ugrappa told reporters that the party was insisting on a proper revision of the electoral rolls only to ensure that all the genuine voters get rightful representation.
“The party base of the JD(S) and BJP is getting eroded and they know that...they are venting their frustration by making baseless allegations,” he said.
Ugrappa also took serious exception to the allegations made by the JD(S) and the BJP, that the functioning of the Governor was being influenced by the Congress. He pointed out that the parties were free to discuss concerns over administration of the State in Parliament.
Railway recruitment
Talking about the ongoing controversy over employee recruitment in the Railways, Ugrappa called for a policy wherein recruitment for Railway jobs across grades would be held on one day in different parts of the country. This would ensure that local candidates get preference during the recruitment.
