Ban KFD, says BJP leader
DH News Service, Mangalore:
Karnataka Forum for Dignity must be banned as it has been supporting terrorism, said Karkala former MLA Sunil Kumar.

Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD), which is active in the coastal districts, has close connections with the banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). KFD must be banned as it has been supporting terrorism, said Karkala former MLA Sunil Kumar.

Speaking at the mega protest against the spread of terrorism in the coastal region, organised by DK district BJP Yuva Morcha on Wednesday, he said terrorism has not been dealt with effectively and hence the State may turn out to be another Kashmir within a few years. It has come to light that accused Asif and Mohammed Ghouse were providing training in some places.

Since the last 10 years, terrorist activities were taking place in the State. It has come to light that the Udupi Krishna Mutt, Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant and many other mutts in various parts of the district were proposed targets of terrorists on January 26, 2008. However, except BJP, no other party has raised its voice against terrorism. BJP will organise Delhi Chalo protest next month demanding capital punishment to Afzal Guru, the accused in Parliament attack, he added.

Former MLA N Yogish Bhat said 3,675 people were killed in the country due to terrorist attacks. Those who finance terrorist organisations like Lashker-e-Toiba must be identified and punished. Many illegal immigrants from Pakistan as well as Bangladesh are posing a threat to the security of the country. Criticising the withdrawal of POTA, he said if people do not wake up at this stage, Karnataka will soon become another Kashmir.

Former minister B Nagaraj Shetty said leaders from the region including MP Janardhan Poojary and Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman M Veerappa Moily have not raised their voice against terrorism.

Artiste Kumble Sundar Rao said Hindus have forgotten to be vigilant and responsible.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding a ban on KFD, conducting re-investigation of Hawala and fake note cases, constituting an anti-terrorism squad in the coastal district and giving protection to religious centres.

Being a citizen of india and a pure Hindusatani and according to indian constitution, all citizen`s have right`s to ask our socio economic problems of there respective community of an individual. I had recently visited a programme conduted by the Popular front of india ,all the topics raised were only for upliftment of people in general not perticular about religion,so how can a organization which ask`s for people`s right`s will be terrorsit link organization?
