The Channabasaveshwara College in Gubbi near the city has achieved much over the last six years, said Dr M N Satyanarayana, joint chief of the Knowledge and Technology Department, National Aero Laboratory, Bangalore.
Speaking after inaugurating the old students’ association, he said that engineering students have many opportunities in the NAL.Students can work on their project reports, MTech and PhD degrees. With the NAL having tie-ups with 36 countries, it has been doing a good job, he added.
B R Umakant, Additional Director (Retd) of the Department of Industries and Commerce, said that the CET had made great strides within the short period since its establishment. Students should remain eternally indebted to their alma mater, he said.
Speaking at the programme, college secretary G B Jyothi Ganesh said CET is providing students with all the required facilities - like laboratories, a good library, and competent faculty - keeping in mind the best interests of the students.
Till now, 320 students have completed their engineering degrees in CET, and are working in different companies.
The alumni of the college have decided to to build a students’ guest house in the college premises, and organise activities of the association on August 15 and January 26, in the college and in Bangalore respectively.
The old students of the college spoke on the occasion. Vice principal Prof C P Shantala Suresh welcomed the gathering. Veena Kumari compered the programme.
