The late Kengal Hanumanthaiah’s tenure as chief minister was pro-people and a model administation to others, Dase Gowda of Kempegowda Residency said here.

He was speaking on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Kengal Hanumanthaiah organised by Sri Kengal Sneha Samithi of Tumkur unit of HMT at Bhyreshwara Co-operative Bank auditorium.

A biography of Kengal Hanumanthaiah titled, “Vidhana Soudha Shilpi Kengal Hanumanthaiah” written was B H Suresh was released by K L Prakash, son of late K Lakappa.

Bhyreshwara Bank Director D T Muniswamy and HMT Workers Union Joint Secretary K C Ramalingaiah spoke on the life and times of Kengal Hanumanthaiah.

Samithi President Bore Gowda presided over the function. Samithi Secretary B T Rangegowda welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Chikkanna proposed a vote of thanks.
