Jayanagar Colts faced little trouble in warding off Vultures Cricket Club on their way to a smooth six-wicket in the N Balaji Memorial MTR Nivarana Basavanagudi Cup here on Wednesday.
Vultures CC elected to bat, and the decision proved to be a huge mistake with their batsmen crumbled against spot-on Colts’ bowlers. Murari offered some resistance with a patient 32, but he received hardly any support from his team-mates.
BK Kumar grabbed three wickets, while C Raghu and Jaggesh bagged two wickets each as Vultures CC’s innings ended at 107 in the 26th over.
In reply, Colts suffered some early jolts, but the target was not enough to pose any challenge to the deep batting line-up of Colts. Off-spinning all-rouner Raghu anchored the chase with a fine 47 and V Bharath assisted him with a knock of 31 as Colts went past the target in 25.3 overs. Raghu was adjudged the man of the match.
They entered the quarterfinals on the day along with Jupiter CA and Bangalore Cricketers.
