Addressing a press meet here on Thursday, Tahsildar Raju Mogaveer said for the 489 polling booths coming under the jurisdiction of Mangalore taluk office, the time fixed for inclusion and deletion of the names of voters is between February 18 to 22. Enquiry will be conducted into the voters’ list till February 26 and the final electoral roll will be published on March 10.

He said in Bantwal constituency, already 751 voters’ names have been newly included while 7,000 names have been deleted and in Ullal constituency, 1,551 names have been newly included while 11,633 names have been deleted. In Surathkal constituency, 2052 names have been included while 14,782 names have been deleted and in Moodabidri constituency, 1,326 names have been included while 15,530 names have been deleted, he informed.

He said there are 72 polling booths for the Bantwal constituency, 140 polling booths for Ullal constituency, 155 polling booths for Surathkal constituency and 122 polling booths for Moodabidri constituency.

As per the instructions of the Chief Election Officer, 489 booth-level officers (one person per booth), 48 nodal officers and six inspection officers have been appointed.

Two stages of house-to-house visits were undertaken and the third stage of house-to-house visits will be held from February 16 to 24.
