Taluk JD(S) President V P Shashidhar urged the authorities to initiate measures against the encroachment of Devarakere in Mullusoge Gram Panchayat and Tavarekere in Kushalnagar Town Panchayat.
Addressing a press meet, he said both the tanks are in government land. However, the land has been illegally encroached. Inspite of complaints of encroachment, no measure has been initiated so far.
He said the encroachment of Tavarekere came to light while rejuvenating Tavarekere as a tourist spot. Still the authorities are in deep slumber, Mr Shashidhar alleged.
