DC Ramchandra has said 1.83 lakh bogus voters’ name which had been alleged entered in the voters’ list has been deleted from the list.
Speaking at a press conference held at his office here on Thursday he said that voters’ list revision had been completed and the number of the voters’ stand at 10,36,131 in the district.
Prior to the revision there were 11,54,365 voters in the district.
Final list in March
“The voters’ list has already been revised four times and after one more round of revision the final list will be released on March10,” said Ramchandra.
Disclosing the details of the voters’ list revision carried on till now in the district he said 14,390 names in Srinivaspur, 19,128 in Mulbagal,11,666 in Kolar Gold Fields, 20,433 in Betmangala, 19,326 in Malur, 12,881 in Kolar and 20,410 in Vemagal have been deleted from the voters list.
Cases registered
6 cases have been registered against those who allegedly harassed and attacked officials during the voters’ list revision exercise. Three cases in Srinivaspur, Two in Malur and one in Kolar have been registered, said Ramchandra.
If people’s names are still missing from the list they can file their objections in their respective tahsildhar office, expressed DC who said people can file the objections from February 14 to 22.
“All these cases will be disposed on March 3”, he added.
District administration has prepared itself to tackle the drinking water crisis if it arises, expressed Deputy Commissioner who said that for the purpose of drinking water a proposal of Rs 19 crore (covering both city and rural area) has already been sent to the government for the approval.
Rs 1.57 crore
“Steps are also are being taken to utilise Rs 1.57 crore under SFC scheme for the drinking water purpose”, said
Ramchandra.
