Thea police raided gambling dens and illegal gas filling centres and have arrested 39 persons in this connection.
The police on Wednesday detected an illegal gas filling centre, Kushi and Kushal Gas Refilling Agency, in New Layout police station limits of Tumkur town near TUDA office, where domestic cooking gas was being used to fill autorickshaw gas cylinders.
The accused Kushal Belagumba has been taken into custody and 11 cylinder and other equipment has been seized, Superintendent of Police Dr P S Harsha told reporters.
Meanwhile in a simultaneous raid on two gambling dens in Gubbi town, the police arrested 38 persons who were allegedly gambling and wager amount of about Rs 39,000 and nine motocycles have been seized.
Arrested
The police have traced the accused in a murder case, which came to light, three days after the murder was committed on in Kunigal Town. The accused committed the murder for a mere Rs 600 and a mobile set.
In February 9, the police found an unidentified body which was later identified as Gurunath, a labourer.
The accused murder had not left any clue for the police to trace. After seeking the technical assistance in this case DYSP Prabhakar tapped the missing mobile phone of the deceased and traced the accuses Mani in Honnur of Chamarajanagar district.
