Her entry into the film industry was accidental. Though she acted in several films such as Sahukara, Giri, Kallarali Hoovagi, in small roles, she attained the spotlight with Duniya, which was a big hit at the box office. Any guesses? Yes, we are speaking about Rashmi, one of the new faces who hit the screen last year and of course disappeared for a while, making appearance in some cameos.
As for now, the actress is acting in lead roles in yet-to-be released movies Akka Tangi and Ramesh Surve’s Mandakini. When asked about her disappearance for quite a long time, the actress said that she was busy with her studies and had to turn down many offers. At present, the actress is pursuing B Com in correspondence.
Did Rashmi always longed to be an actress? No, she says. “It was accidental. I was chosen to play a small role in Sahukara and that was how I entered the Kannada filmdom.” The actress likes to play innocent, decent roles.
And what about glamourous roles which need exposing? A big ‘No’, she says. She likes to play the gal next-door.
She has got a huge list of favourite actresses, out of which she considers Jayanthi, a special one. Rashmi is a dire-hard fan of Dr Raj Kumar.
Rashmi has got many projects in future. Along with the above mentioned roles, she will be acting in Hrudayada Aramane, Devaru, Tunturu Male opposite Murali, says the promising actress. We wish her all the best.
