Anju leapt to 6.38 metres in her fifth attempt, finishing just one centimetre behind China’s Chen Yaling, the gold medal winner.
Anju had won the silver in the previous edition of the meet too, finishing behind Maha Hanoaka of Japan, who holds the meet record at 6.40 metres. M A Prajusha won the bronze with a jump of 6.09 metres.
In the morning, Olga Rypakova of Kazakhstan leapt to 14.23 metres to win the women's triple jump gold with a meet record.
Li Qian of China finished distant second with 13.76M and Liu Ya Nan, also from China, took the third place with 13.39M.
Meanwhile, Sergy Zassim-ovich of Kazakhstan won the high jump gold with a championship record effort of 2.24M, eclipsing the 2.23M mark registered by Yuriy Pakhlyayev in Tehran four years back.
Majed Ghazal of Syria finished second behind the winner with a jump of 2.21M.
