UK education expo a big hit
Bangalore, DHNS:
Students aspiring to pursue higher studies in the United Kingdom thronged the two-day Education UK Exhibition which began at Hotel Ashok here on Friday.

On the first day, 1,500 students visited and enquired about the courses offered by 67 universities which participated in the exhibition.

Head, Education UK of the British Council Division, Dhanasekaran said he was overwhelmed by the response. “For the last fourteen years we are organising the exhibition but this year the response is tremendous. Around 1500 students with their parents visited on exhibition. We also have noticed an increase in the UK participants,” said Dhanasekaran.

He said about 800 students visited the exhibition within an hour of its opening at 2 pm on Friday.
Student Chinthan Sharma who had come all the way from Ananthapur, from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh said he wanted to pursue a career in animation and was looking for the best university in UK to study the course.
Nanditha from Bangalore wanted to pursue management course and was looking for a suitable institute.
The exhibition will also be open on Saturday. Call 080-22489220, 22240767.

Hope the organisers of this fair are giving a fair view of the problems with UK visa & the restrictions the govt are placing on new students & those already here. They need Indian/foriegn money to subsidse training for locals, so they will come there & paint a very rosy picture of life in UK. Many of universities represented there are not good enough. They need to read about the plight of HSMP visa holders & get a complete picture before spending their parents hard earned money
