“ The Indian Culture is very different from its Western counterpart and it is our duty as Indians to ensure that the difference is maintained,” opined Tumkur V V treasurer K C Basappa.
He was speaking at the special camp organised for NSS students at the Government College in Sankenhalli.
He added that it was the farmer who needed to understand marketing to survive in this day an age of globalisation, because people of our country were forgetting the worth of our products. “The farmers will be able enjoy the complete benefits if they are self reliant and able to produce everything that they need. This will also mean the development of our country.”
K H Prakash who also spoke on the occasion said students had to formulate programmes with the aim to make them attractive to the rural population so they may be more actively involved with issues such as hygiene, health and others. Writer Gangadhar Kodli also addressed the gathering and said that the students must take advantage of every opportunity presented to them during their student days so they have an edge over the others in this competitive world. Principal Prof A M R Kotraiaha said that greater exposure to the world ensured that the students had a wider perspective to address issues and environment and therefore theywould able to safeguard it better.
