Dinakar Shetty of Herga Shetty Bettu ward and Indira Shekar of Kalmadi ward have been elected unanimously as President and Vice President of Udupi CMC.
Of 35 seats, BJP had won 28 in the last election.
Addressing the gathering soon after elected as President, Dinaker Shetty said prime priority will be given towards implementing programmes which assures basic necessities like drinking water, drainage system, safe roads and street lights for the public and making Udupi a clean free city.
He also said that importance will be given for the collection of taxes.
The tax money will be utilised for the all round development of the City and assured a corruption free administration. Third Finance Commission Chairman A G Kodgi, Udupi DC P Hemalath, former minister Dr V S Acharya and Vice-President Indira Shekar were present.
