DH News Service, Kushalnagar, DHNS:

Farmers must improve their economic level by undertaking profitable dairy farming, said Zilla Panchayat member H S Ashok.

Speaking after inaugurating a free veterinary camp at Siddalingapura in Torenoor Gram Panchayat jurisdiction, he said dairy farming which is a branch of agriculture is playing a pivotal role in the development of villages. Farmers must utilise the facilities being provided under the Vidarbha Scheme, he advised.

Gram panchayat president Vedavathi said farmers must avail benefits of the assistance being provided under the Animal Husbandry Department.

Koodige Milk Dairy Assistant Manager M S Nagaraj and Siddalingapura Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union President M S Shanthi spoke on the occasion. Veterinary doctors Nagaraju, Shivraj and H T Manjunath conducted the free check-up camp.  Gram panchayat member T G Hareesh, Dr Nagaraju and Yuvaka Sangha President S M Bopaiah participated. Animal Husbandry Department employees Jeevankumar, Kushalappa and Ramesh were present. Over 75 cattle were treated during the camp.
