Arts And Crafts In Private Hands
Bangalore, Feb 15.
After 45 years of existence, the Government-owned Arts and Crafts Depot today came under the governance of an independent body of 14 members, 11 of which are women.
The change-over was due to the insistence of the All-India Handicrafts Board to enlarge the scope of the functioning of the depot making it a centre of display of craftmanship from all over the country.
Conscience Money?
New Delhi, Feb 15.
A postman turned up at the Railway Board’s offices here with a letter enclosing five postal orders totalling Rs 40.50 and a covering letter which gave neither the sender’s name nor his address.
The letter stated that the postal orders were being sent in lieu of the railway fare from Calcutta to Bombay “As I had travelled once without ticket as I had no money”.
