The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS)’s violence against North Indians claimed one more life; a Bihari migrant who was working as security supervisor of Jindal company at Igatpuri in Nasik district. The victim has been identified as Vinod Singh (40). He was beaten by suspected MNS workers on Wednesday, at the time of MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s arrest, when he tried to prevent the attackers from entering the company premises. He died in hospital due to the injuries.
On Wednesday, an HAL employee Ambadas Dharrao, a Marathi-speaking person, was hit by stones thrown by MNS workers when he was returning from the HAL’s staff bus to his home in Nasik.
The Maharashtra government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh to both the families. While the MNS student wing chief and two others have been arrested in connection with Dharrao’s killing, the police picked up 13 assailants for Vinod Singh’s murder.
