Beerala’s breezy 67 (60b, 10x4, 1x6) helped Gymkhana to post 234 for seven in the stipulated 30 overs after opted to bat. Srivatsa Puranik and Raju Bhatkal chipped in with well-made 30s as the winners raced past 200-run mark.
Having needed to score over seven runs per over, Bangalore Cricketers were under pressure straightaway. To add to their woes, none of their batsmen build on the starts.
Sunil Chinnaswamy and Hidayat looked promising during their stay, but could not carry on.
Left-arm spinner Anand Katti grabbed four wickets for the winners as Bangalore team could manage only 175 before getting bundled out in the final over of the day.
