Truckers’ meet on Feb 18

The Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association (FKSLOAA), the Karnataka Goods Transporters Association and other trucker bodies have convened a South Zone meet on February 18 to chalk out the  course of action following the High Court verdict making speed governors compulsory.
 G R Shanmugappa, president of FKSLOAA on Friday said, “We will decide as to what stand we should adopt along with the appeal in the Supreme Court.”

No nod for live bands

Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao has made it clear no one has permission to organise live bands in the City.
Mr Rao told reporters here on Friday that so far no one has applied for holding such concerts. Applications will be considered only if someone applies for it, he said. On live band concerts in star hotels here, he said rules are applicable to everyone. In case someone violates rules, action will be taken against them. On KRV and like-minded organisations, he said the police have been assisting the railway police in dealing with such situations.
