Gowramma Muniyappa of Grama Vasavathi Nigama Niyamitha, Parappana Agrahara, said that about 150 houseless persons were identified as allottees of the sites formed in survey No 148 Kudlu village. But, recently, the land is sought to be handed over to the Slum Clearance Board, they said while seeking an interim order against dispossession.
The Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph hearing the PIL passed an interim order staying dispossession of the allottees from the said land, pending disposal of the petition.
PIL admitted
The High Court on Friday admitted a PIL seeking direction to BBMP against dismantling the RCC covered slabs over the Storm Water Drain in National Games Village and Jakkasandra Main Road in Koramangala, Bangalore.
The petition by Fahim Khan, president of Federation of NGV Residents’ Associations said that the BBMP had issued a work tender to dismantle the RCC covered slabs present over the SWD in Koramangala. They contended that dismantling of slabs would cause health hazards to the residents of about 2,534 flats in the layout.
The division Bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice B S Patil ordered notices to State Government, BBMP and BWSSB.
