I was born in Chandigarh, grew up in Pondicherry, worked in Jamshedpur and now live in Bangalore. Who am I? Most would answer Indian, but to the politician Ill be the eternal outsider. Sunday Herald presents three essays on the prevailing existential dilemma.

Sanctuary of temple elephants
A bear in Daroji Bear Sanctuary in Bellary. Sloth Bear (Melursus ursinus) is a very rare animal of Peninsular India, and Daroji Sanctuary is the only Protected Area earmarked for the conservation of this endangered species.
