Parishat President Chandrashekhar Patil informed the reporters here on Thursday that the award ceremony will be held at ADA Ranga Mandira in City on March 1.
In addition, ‘BMTC Aralu Sahithya Prashasthi’ will be given to Mallikarjunagouda Thoolahalli (poetry - Sharifana Bogase), Hanjhamalar (story - Ummana Alikhathu), K Kariswami (drama - Singarithlu), Varalakshmi Nagaraja (environment - Prakruthi Vikopagalu mattu Raksha Kavacha) and Dr K S Pavithra (children’s literature - Magu Manassu). This award is aimed at encouraging young writers. It includes Rs 10,000 cash prize, said Patil.
The Rs 1.5 crore cash endowment deposited by BMTC with the Parishat will be made use of to give away the prizes, Patil said.
