‘Varna Ruchi,’ a three-day painting exhibition of landscapes by Vasanth Kumar was inaugurated here at Vibhuthi Art Gallery Chitrakala Mandir on Friday.
The proceeds of the exhibition will be contributed to the meritorious students coming from low income families of Udupi district through Vidhya Poshak, Dharwad and Vidyanidhi Udupi.
Renowned artist N S Pattar said that the art needs no definition and an abstract painting can be briefed only by the painter himself about the idea involved to the laymen as many are incapable of the understanding the purpose behind the art, he added.
Canara Health Centre Chief Dr Y Sudharshan Rao, President Yakhagana Kalaranga Murali Kadekar were present at the inaugural ceremony.
