'BJP doing politics in Rama's name'
DH News Service, Kolar:

Women should lead a systematic agitation to get 33 per cent reservation in Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha, opined State Mahila Congress president Rani Satish.

She was speaking after inaugurating the first district-level Mahila Congress Convention at Balaji Prarthana Mandir in Kolar on Saturday. The convention was organised by district Mahila Congress.

Many political parties are hesitating to give reservation to the women, expressed Rani Satish who said that women deserve better socio-economic and political positions.

Around 10 lakh women in the country have availed the benefits of reservation in local bodies. As a result of it women have gained power in many local institutions, expressed Rani Satist who said that late Rajiv Gandhi had brought lot of amendments with in the social limitations to empower women.  Other political parties in the centre are reluctant to give reservation to the women in Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha, she added.

Congress party aims to strengthen 1.75 Stree Shakti associations in the state and has also sent a proposal regarding this to Centre,  said Mrs Satish who lauded former Chief minister S M Krishna for implementing stree shakti scheme.

Criticising the BJP-JD(S) coalition government, Rani Satish said that coalition government was highly corrupt and it is those officials who had amassed a lot of wealth during this period who are being caught by the Lokayukta sleuths.

Lord Rama left the throne for the sake of people but BJP is doing  politics in his name and is also involved in violence, alleged Rani Satish.
