Hugenhalli village Praja Vani stringer Allah Baksh (35) died on the spot when the two-wheeler in which he was travelling was hit by lorries which had collided at Chikkakadaturu gate in the taluk on Friday night.
Allah Baksh along with one Emraan (35) was on his way to his village when accident happened. Emraan who was grievously injured has been shifted to Bangalore for further treatment.
On Friday night Allah Baksh and Emraan were on their way to their village from Malur when the lorry in front of them was hit head-on by the lorry coming from the opposite side. In a tragic turn both the lorries then hit the two-wheeler in which Allah Baksh and Emraan were travelling.
Allah Baksh who was with Praja Vani for a long time had significantly contributed to the circulation of the paper in rural areas.
Local Press Club President P N Das, vice president G Manjunath Gowda, chief secretary M Ravi Kumar, treasury T K Nagaraj and others have condoled his death.
A case has been registered at the police station and investigations are being conducted.
