An Australian woman was shot at on Saturday and wounded by a man believed to be her lover who later committed suicide by turning the revolver on himself in Vrindavan in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
“Saurav (28), nephew of former Uttar Pradesh Minister Tejpal Singh, shot 26-year-old Leela, daughter of Susan, a resident of Perth in Australia, at Raman Reti locality at around 2 am following an altercation between them,” Senior Superintendent of Police of Mathura R K Chaturvedi said. Saurav then committed suicide by firing from a revolver, he said.
