Two more cholera cases
The number of gastroenteritis cases in the City dropped drastically on Sunday, while two more cases of cholera tested by the hanging drops method was confirmed.
Annamalai (66) from Neelasandra was confirmed positive for cholera through the hanging drops method at St Philomena’s hospital and was referred to Isolation Hospital. Maria Shalini, a 27 year-old resident of Austin town, also tested positive for the same test. Meanwhile, the number of gastroenteritis cases declined drastically with only 21 fresh cases (as of 8.45 pm) reported at the Corporation Maternity Home at Thimmaiah Road, which usually sees the chunk of patients.
AA office opened
Alcoholics Anonymous now has an office of its own. The new facility was inaugurated on Sunday by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Special Commissioner (Administration) B S Ramaprasad, at the BBMP Primary Health Centre, opposite Railway Quarters in Oakalipuram.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from Alcoholism.
Alcoholics Anonymous does not collect dues or fees for membership and the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking.
