Poultry farmers seek government grant
Srinivaspur, DHNS:

The government should release the discount rate for the welfare of poultry farmers, said  District Poultry Farmers Welfare Association Vice-President C S Munegowda.

Speaking to reporters at a tourist bungalow he said earlier the poultry farmers were given the grants but now it has been stopped. Unfortunately, farmers who have started the poultry farms are not getting the aid from the government. Hence, they are in deep trouble. BESCOM officials had assured that electric equipment will be given free of cost to the poultry farms to get the electric connection, but they have taken the full amount of money from the farmers, he alleged.

The government must follow the formula of  Poultry farm based Small Scale Industries. Moreover, the government should give the  financial aid to the farmers.

Most of the farmers are taking up the poultry farm due to scarcity of rain.  As many as 1 crore poultry farms have been started .  The livelihood of  many families are based on this occupation. The government should  provide the required facilities to the farmers, he said.

District Poultry Farms Welfare Association Secretary C M Ramesh, Convenor Sugaturu  Vishwanath, Treasurer Ankathatti Bhaskar, leaders Amarnath, Chiruvanahalli Venkataramegowda, Neelapalli Narayanareddy,  and others look on.
