The proposed works on the International Airport’s Radar station at Bommanahalli village in the taluk which was to start on Sunday was stopped by the protesting farmers who alleged that government had not given them any compensation for their land.
Government had earlier given technical permission to set up a Radar station at the raised plateau near Bommanahalli village gate.
All the technicalities had been completed and government had even started acquiring the land for the purpose.
Villagers alleged that government had not given them any compensation for their land.
GP fixes prices
Though a price has been fixed by the neighbouring village panchayats for the lands that would be acquired government has not revealed anything about the price, alleged villagers who had gathered in large numbers at the site of construction. They even sent back the JCBs which had come their in the aftenoon.
Farmers will be deeply hit if proper compensation is not given them as they are mainly dependent on agriculture, said protesting villagers.
