Video transfer
Pinnacle Systems, Inc., the consumer division of Avid Technology, Inc., on Tuesday announced the launch of its latest offering, the Pinnacle Video Transfer — an innovative device that records analog video from a TV, VCD/DVD player, VHS player, camcorder or set-top box and transfers it directly onto an iPod Video, iPod Touch, iPod Nano, PSP, USB flash drive, USB hard drive or any other portable video player without using a PC.
Offering anytime, anywhere entertainment convenience, Pinnacle Video Transfer hardware is ideal for people who want to enjoy TV shows and personal videos on their iPod Video, PSP or just want to store them on a USB drive to watch later.
The compact device will also appeal to people who want to download footage from their camera to a portable USB device when away from home.
Users with little or no technical expertise can begin audio-video recording and transfer the file created onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC.
For each connected device, users can select three different recording levels, depending on their preference for video quality or the actual size of the video file. Videos are captured in the H.264 format, the high-compression multimedia technology supported by iPods and PSPs.
