There is a need for pro-farmer government in the State, opined BJP leader Ramachandre Gowda.
Addressing the party workers at a meet on recently in Chikkamalavadi at Kunigal Assembly constituency, he said, former chief minister Yediyurappa had implemented several schemes for the farmers during his 20-month tenure as deputy chief minister.
He criticised the Congress and JD(S) for not working for the welfare of the farmers.
Elaborating on the schemes including waiving off loan, he said if the BJP-JD(S) government had not collapsed, even loan in the nationalised banks could have been waived off, he said.

He said, Narendra Modi in Gujarat, who was criticised as casteist, has proved to be nationalist and developmentalist. He also lauded the coalition government for banning lottery.
B Sureshgowda, who presided over the programme said he would contest the forthcoming poll from Kunigal constituency He criticised the Congress for baiting voters by distributing free uniforms, health check-up camps etc.
