One killed in road mishap
Kunigal, DHNS: A person was killed after hit by a lorry while crossing a road at Anchepalya in N H 48 on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Thimmaiah(60) of Ajjegowdanapalya. The lorry driver is absconding. PSI Siddaraju has regisered a case and further investigation is on.

Work better, Lokayukta told
Pavagada,DHNS: The Lokayukta officials have to unearth the illegal cases that has been happening unabated in the taluk, said the people of Pavagada. The visit of Lokayukta officials should bring into light the irregularities and should not be like the visit of district level officials, the furious citizens of the taluk told.

The Lokayukta officials should see into the problems of the people and not merely wait for complaints. Projects worth Rs lakhs have been misused in the name of naxalites and have not been reaching the deserved beneficiaries, they added.

Many works such as overhead tanks and others taken up by Zilla Panchayat have been collapsing in the construction stage itself, and have demanded a probe into such cases. They have demanded the Lokayukta to take suitable action against them.
