'Technology in education' at city college

Computers have been provided to 54 government high schools in DK district under Mahithi sindhu project of the government, said DIET Teacher Gopinath.

Speaking at a programme on technology in education, at Government PU College car street, held here on Tuesday, he said more than 1,600 students are making use of the facility and 4,000 teachers are getting trained on the use of computer.

In the second stage, computers will be supplied to 1,521 schools in the State.

Mr Gopinath said the syllabus is taught through project based learning method to the primary and high school students.

College Principal P P Joseph said that for several years, all the government schools were lacking basic facilities. “Now under various projects, government is providing facilities for the quality education,” he added
Corporator Mamatha Shenoy, District Teachers Training Institute Principal Philomena Lobo, Prerana Club President Padmini and others were present.

A power point presentation on ‘profit-loss,’ ‘Aids’ and uses of lence was the major attraction.
