Koppa villagers demand basic facilities
DH News Service, Koppa:

About 15-20 families of Hulse village in Heroor Gram Panchayat are deprived of basic facilities such as drinking water etc. The youth of the village under the leadership of Communist Party of India submitted a memorandum to the tahshildar on Tuesday demanding for basic facilities in the village.

The youth from the village informed the Tahshildar Narasimharaju that though the pond in Hulse (Survey number 195) was repaired by the panchayat, the water in the pond is seeping due to sub standard works.
The water from the pond is further used to water the plantations of the influencial people in the village rather then providing water to the poor families. There are no wells or bore wells dug in the region to meet the water requirements of the people.

The youth hence requested the Tahshildar to inspect the area and make a study of the situation and take appropriate steps to provide water in the region. CPI Secretary Kelavalli Kalasappa, Lakshman and others were present.
