A remote-controlled bomb struck an estate car in the southern province of Helmand on Tuesday, provincial police chief Mohammad Hussain Andiwal said.“Five people — a woman, two children and two men, all members of the same family — were killed in the roadside blast. One person was wounded,” Andiwal said. Another bomb, also remotely controlled, hit a police patrol in the neighbouring province of Kandahar and killed two police, provincial police chief Sayed Aqa Saqib said.
Another three policemen were wounded, he said. A Taliban spokesman, Yousuf Ahmadi, said that that his organisation had carried out this attack.
