Dhwani clinches futures title
Dhwani Kumar warded off stiff challenge from Viyanan 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to walk away with the title in the Kensri School tennis futures tournament on Tuesday.

Results: Final: Dhwani Kumar bt Viyanan 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Semifinals: Dhwani Kumar bt Megha 8-5; Viyanan bt Surya 8-3.

Quarterfinals: Megha bt Tathagat 7-0; Surya bt Shefali 7-2; Dhwani Kumar bt Prajna 7-0; Viyanan bt Ritesh 7-6 (6-4).

Northern Trust register win
Northern Trust scored a facile seven-wicket win over Cry Cadence in the Cry Cadence Corporate Cricket Challenge tournament.

Batting first, Cadence were shot out for a paltry 104 in 20 overs. Northern, in reply, had little difficulty in reaching 105 in 13.1 overs.

Ninan to lead Karnataka
Off-spinner Ryan Ninan will lead Karnataka in the under-25 cricket tournament for PS Ram Mohan Rao Trophy to be held in Goa from February 12 to 19.

Classical open chess tourney
C V Raman Chess Club will organise the 14th T Rajanna Memorial classical open chess tournament on February 9 and 10.

The event will be held at Yuvaka Sangha, East Anjaneya Temple street, Basavanagudi, Bangalore - 04. The entries will be closed at 6 pm on February 7 .
