Their demands include filling up of vacant posts in teaching and non-teaching staffs at colleges and schools, resolving the problems faced at hostels, proper libraries, laboratories, release of scholarships, reservation of seats for meritorious, rural and economically backward students and others. They will urge Governor Rameshwar Takur to implement central legislation to control foreign private universities and educational Institutions, reserve 30 per cent in state budget and 10 per cent in central budgets for education, and 6 per cent of GDP amount, said SFI Tumkur district unit secretary Pavan Gangadhar, leader V E Shivanna in a release.
They have requested students to participate in large numbers.
