Two youths drowned
Tumkur, DHNS:

 Two youths who went to take bath at Mavinahalli lake of Gubbi taluk slipped and died after drowning in it.
The two deceased are Mahalingaiah (25) and Girish (20) of Gollarahatti. Mahalingaiah who tried to save Girish also drowned after his futile attempts to save him. The bodies were taken out in the evening. A case has been registered in C S Pura police station.

10 arrested for flesh trade
Tumkur, dhns: The police who raided a lodge at Mandipet in the city arrested 10 people for involving in prostitution. They arrested four women and six men along with the owner of the lodge and seized Rs 5,000. Tilak park Police have registered a case and further investigation is on. Inspector of SP office H K Jagannath, PSI Rajashekhar, Tyagaraj and staff had participated in the raid.

Rampant sale of illicit liquor
Tumkur, DHNS: The villagers of Sanjeevapur in Gondihalli gram panchayat in Madhugiri taluk have said that the sale of illict liquor has been rampant from many days.

Majority of the villagers belong to backward classes who are economically backward too and have been easily becoming prey to the habit of drinking, they added and requested the concerned authorities to take strict action against this.
