Love games anyone
Hema Anand

Games add a touch of fun, frolic and liveliness to any party or get together. If you plan to have a Valentine Day’s get together this year, you could plan a few games for the couples to make the party a memorable one. A few ideas just for you-

Musical rope

Things  you will need — a piece of rope (about 2 mts. long).

How to play — Tie up the ends of the rope together to form a ring. (If a rope is not available, a cotton dupatta can also be used.) All the couples stand facing each other and form a circle. The host can play the music. When the music starts , one couple takes the rope and passes it from their heads to their toes [both the partners together]. They then pass on the rope to the couple on their right. This couple also passes the rope from their heads to their toes and then pass it on to the next couple who does the same. The couple which has the rope when the music stops is eliminated. Some funny punishments are given to the couples who  get eliminated. The same process continues till only one couple remains and this couple is declared the winner.

Dance with me

Things you will need — Sheets of newspaper.

How to play — Spread the double sheets of a newspaper on the floor with adequate distance between them.

Each couple stands on one sheet of newspaper and that is their respective dance floor. When the music starts, each couple dances, but only on their sheet of newspaper. They can remove their foot wear if they please. Stop the music after 1 minute. Each couple then gets off the sheet of paper and folds it into half and again the music is put on for another minute. The process continues and in each round the newspaper is folded into half. When the paper is too small for two people , the lady can stand on the feet of her male partner or he can carry her. Appoint 3 judges to to  judge the couples and give the couples points out of 10 for each round. If the feet of any of the participant goes out of the sheet of paper in any round, that couple will be disqualified. The couple with the highest score after all the rounds will be the winner.
